About

Mary Farrell teaches private piano and keyboard lessons in Mt. Kisco, Westchester County, NY. She grew up in a family influenced by great music, particularly from her grandfather, a composer, and was educated by some of the most experienced and skilled teachers from the Curtis Institute of Music, Juilliard School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, and Chicago Conservatory of Music. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Wichita State University, Kansas, graduating with honors. Her inspirational manner and patience create an effective environment for learning. Her knowledge of voice and drums assists in demonstrating musical concepts during lessons, and she offers video-recorded lessons as a unique way for students to review what they learned. Mary founded and is active in the Westchester Music Teacher's Roundtable for bettering music education and private lessons, established in 2009. She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), New York State Music Teachers Association, and Piano Teachers Congress. Her students have participated in New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) festivals and The Royal Conservatory of Music Development Program, and some have received college scholarships to further their music education. Homeschoolers are welcome.
