Pleasantville Academy of Music

About

Pleasantville Academy of Music, conveniently located in the heart of Pleasantville across from the Jacob Burns Film Center, offers lessons on the most popular instruments of today, all gathered under one roof. Students choose from guitar, voice, singing, and piano, as well as songwriting and music production, for ages 4 to adult. The academy's award-winning teachers have remarkable depth in their teaching skills, with years of high-level performance experience and warm personalities, knowing that students should have fun while learning. Students have traveled from as far as NYC, Boston, Hartford, Pound Ridge, Bedford, and surrounding towns to study with their teachers. Former students have gone on to illustrious musical careers, in bands such as the Revivalists (who opened for the Rolling Stones) and Anamanaguchi, and with organizations such as the Metropolitan Opera Company. The academy offers free recitals in a professional setting with grand pianos, performance classes, and outreach programs. Lessons are month-to-month with no semester minimums, and the school offers a free Picture Day with a professional photographer every Spring.
